I’ve been shopping on Nasty Gal for a while now, and never gave a second thought to whoever was behind the affordable, high-quality clothing brand. That was until recently, I was mindlessly looking at the Spotify home page trying to decide what to throw on while I got ready when I found the Girlboss Radio podcast (a serendipitous moment for sure). It’s hosted by the one and only Sophia Amoruso.
After hearing one episode, I was instantly hooked. Amoruso is SO inspiring with her story of building a business all on her own and taking her success to new levels through different media outlets like books and podcasts. Her podcast episodes involve a feature from a different girl boss each week, and the success stories get me so motivated. My binge-listening has caused me to feel like I could probably take over the world if I wanted to.
Here’s the most recent episode if you want to binge with me. I’ve never experienced having someone else’s story make me feel like such a bad bitch. Even if you’re not in the mood to conquer the world, it’s refreshing to hear uplifting words and stories when life around us can get so crazy. I think a lot of times it’s easy to see someone who is rich and successful and wonder how they got so lucky- but that’s the problem. It’s not luck. They worked their ass off to get there, and we could be doing the same exact thing.
I’m not usually someone to participate in New Year’s resolutions, and I don’t even know if this would be considered that. But going into the new year I’m being a girl boss. I’m getting shit done and I’m not giving up, and I’m challenging everyone around me to do the same. Imagine how POWERFUL we would be if we gave 110% to everything we did without failure as an option. The time to boss up is now!! How are you going to change your life- or even the world?
